King Saul Died on Mount Gilboa

2

[1 Samuel 31 : 6]

So Saul and his three sons and his armor-bearer and all his men died together that same day

3

King Saul was in great fear ahead of the war with the Philistines.

God did not answer the prayers of King Saul who had not repented.

4

King Saul, who did not get an answer from God, chose the wrong path.

He went to the shaman that God hates most.

He disguised himself as a king and went to the shaman to call Samuel.

5

King Saul hears terrifying words through Satan disguised as Samuel brought up by a shaman.

Satan says that King Saul and all his children will die in the war against the Philistines.

King Saul was shocked and returned in fear.

6

After that, the Philistines and Israel went into a great war.

King Saul and his three sons also participated in the war.

Their names were'Jonathan','Abinadab' and'Malki-suah'.

7

The Israeli soldiers were greatly defeated by the Philistines.

Many Israeli soldiers died on Mount Gilboa.

Because God was not with Israel, they could not win the war.

8

The Philistine soldiers gained momentum and began to search for King Saul and his sons.

And they found the sons of King Saul.

And they killed the king's sons.

9

The Philistine soldiers did not stop attacking by shooting arrows at the Israelites.

One of the arrows they shoot hit King Saul.

King Saul was struck by an arrow and was seriously injured.

10

King Saul asked a man who was holding his weapon. ¡°Pull out your sword and kill me.

Before the Philistines who do not believe in God come and mock me and kill me, you must kill me.¡± King Saul wanted to protect even his last pride, so he asked his subordinates to kill him.

11

However, the man was unable to kill the king he served.

Saul eventually put the tip of his sword on his stomach and leaned over it.

So King Saul himself killed his own life.

12

Seeing this, King Saul's men committed suicide in the same way King Saul did.

In the war with the Philistines, King Saul, his three sons (Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malgishua),

and his men who had been with King Saul to the end, all died together on Mount Gilboa.

13

The next day, the Philistine soldiers found Saul and his sons dead.

News of King Saul's death spread throughout the Philistines.

They boasted that they had defeated the Israeli army by putting the armor of King Saul in the shrine of the idol Ashtoreths , and hung the bodies of King Saul and his sons on the wall of Beth Shan.

14

The wicked things the Philistines had done to the dead King Saul and his princes were told by the Gilead Jabethites. Upon hearing this, the warriors of Jabez Gilead ran all night to Beth Shan.

They returned to Jabesh with the bodies of King Saul and his princes.

15

The people of Jabesh cremated the bodies of King Saul and his princes.

They buried their bones under the Ezer tree and gave them a funeral.

They mourned the deaths of King Saul and his princes without eating for 7 days.

The life of King Saul, Israel's first king, ended so miserably.

16

God chose Saul to be the king of Israel.

King Saul had to rule over Israel, which God had entrusted, upright and honestly.

However, King Saul did not rule over Israel properly.

Saul had the wrong passion to envy and kill David, whom God had sent to work with him.

King Saul reaped the consequences of his fault he had planted.

He died on Mount Gilboa, not only himself, but also his sons.

17

Through today's talk, we can see how the life of Saul, the first king of Israel, came to an end.

We, who are called as children of God, must not stubbornly go wicked paths like King Saul and live apart from God. We have special grace to be saved through faith in Jesus.

When we realize our sins and sincerely repent, we are given special grace to receive forgiveness from God.

Therefore, when we fall into sin, we must immediately repent and return.

Another thing, let's remember that God allows us to reap what we plant.

I want you to plant a life that obeys God's Word and become people of faith who

bear the fruit of a life that pleases God.
