Jesus and Adam
|
2
|
|
[Romans 5 : 17]
For if, by the trespass of the
one man, death reigned through that one man,
how much more will those who
receive God¡¯s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness
reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
|
3
|
|
The world God created was truly beautiful.
The first man, Adam, was blessed to meet God
directly.
He was overflowing with love, joy and happiness
in God's grace.
|
4
|
|
But this happiness did not last long.
This is because Adam, the first man of mankind,
ate the forbidden fruit that God had told him not to eat. Because he broke
his promise with God, sin entered this earth.
|
5
|
|
Because of sin, the relationship between Adam
and God was completely cut off.
God's grace could no longer be with Adam.
When Adam sinned, he became under the rued over
of sin.
|
6
|
|
The sin that ruled over Adam revealed a
terrible power.
He ruled over all those born through Adam. They
did not partake of the forbidden fruit
like Adam did, but they were all under the
dominion of sin.
|
7
|
|
When sin entered, death came with it.
All who are affected by sin cannot escape the
terrible punishment of death.
Because of the sin of one man, Adam, all people
were punished with death.
|
8
|
|
Romans 5:12 accurately
expresses this part.
[Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one
man, and death through sin,
and in this way
death came to all people, because all sinned - (Romans 5:12)]
|
9
|
|
Through one man, Adam, sin entered with death.
After Adam, all people are born under the
control of sin.
All who are affected by sin, without exception,
will die.
It is because of sin that no one who is born
into this world does not die.
|
10
|
|
If sin came to dominate all people because of
one man, Adam,
it means that one person who overcomes sin can
set everyone free from sin by the same principle.
|
11
|
|
It
was Jesus who did that. Jesus came to this earth in the same flesh as ours.
But
he was not ruled by sin.
He
paid for all our sins and He paid the price for our sins on the cross.
He
went down directly to the place of death.
|
12
|
|
And three days later, He broke all the powers
of sin and death and rose again.
Sin could never have dominion over Jesus.
Jesus became the first of all mankind to break
sin and death.
|
13
|
|
Jesus has granted this grace to all who believe
in Him as their Savior.
It is only through faith in Jesus that we can
receive this grace.
He said that Jesus gave us grace at no cost.
|
14
|
|
The grace given through faith in Jesus set the
person free from sin and death.
The grace of Jesus drove away sin and death
from dominating people.
Anyone who believes in Jesus can be freed from
the dominion of sin and death and
become righteous.
|
15
|
|
The disobedience of one man, Adam, made all men
sinners.
But all those who have faith in one Jesus
become righteous.
No longer can sin and death have dominion over
us who are justified by faith in Jesus.
|
16
|
|
No one who wears clean clothes intentionally
tries to soil them.
He tries to keep his clothes from getting
dirty.
However, dirty stains that unintentionally get
on the clothes will be clean again after washing.
|
17
|
|
To us who are righteous, sin is but a stain.
A person who is righteous and puts on
spiritually clean clothes does not intentionally sin.
But like a stain on clean clothes, it can also
lead to unintentional sin. But don't worry.
Because if you just ask for forgiveness in the
name of Jesus, your sins will disappear.
This is because sin cannot have dominion over
those who have received the grace of Jesus.
|
18
|
|
We, who are justified by the grace of Jesus,
must become like Jesus.
We must be careful not to hold our sins upon
us.
As people of faith who have received eternal
life,
we must be careful in our words and actions and
do good deeds in accordance with the
Word of God to give glory to God.
