God writing on the wall

2

[Daniel 5:24-25]

Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription.

"This is the inscription that was written: Mene , Mene , Tekel , Parsin

3

Among the kings of Babylon, there was a king named Belshazzar.

Belshazzar held a great feast to show off how great his kingdom was.

King Belshazzar had a thousand guests.

4

As the feast draws near, Belshazzar issues an order.

He told them to bring the gold and silver cups from the temple in Jerusalem.

These cups were brought by King Nebuchadnezzar when he destroyed Judah.

5

Belshazzar gave the cups from the temple of God to the noble guests and concubines.

Those who received the cup poured wine into it. As they drank, they praised their gods, or idols.

6

Just then, a human hand appeared on the opposite wall.

The hand began to write on the plaster wall of the royal palace opposite the candlestick.

King Belshazzar saw this scene precisely.

7

When King Belshazzar saw the scene, he was in great fear. His face went pale.

His legs lost strength and his knees trembled.

8

King Belshazzar gathered together famous astrologers, sorcerers, and fortune tellers from the country. ¡°Whoever reads this and interprets it to me, I will clothe him in purple and put a gold chain around his neck, and I will make him the third highest ruler in the land.¡±

The king made a very big promise and asked to unravel it.

9

All the so-called wise men gathered in that country.

They did everything they could to interpret the writing on the wall, but no one was able to solve it.

he king became more and more anxious and trembling with great fear,

and his guests were perplexed, not knowing what to do.

10

Then the king's mother came to the king and said,

¡°There is a man in your kingdom who has received the spirit of the holy gods.

There is a man named ¡®Daniel¡¯ whom King Nebuchadnezzar named ¡®Belteshazzar¡¯ and made him the head of all the wise men. He will explain to the king what the letters on the wall mean.¡±  The king's mother told Daniel to call and ask.

11

The king called Daniel and said, ¡°No one could explain to me what was written on that wall.

Please explain to me what those letters mean.

Then I will clothe you in purple, put a gold chain around your neck,

and make you the third ruler of this land.¡±

12

Daniel answers the king. ¡°The king takes the present and gives the prize to others.

Regardless of that, I will read the writing on the wall for the king and unravel its meaning.¡±

13

Daniel told the king why God had written this article before unraveling its meaning.

King Nebuchadnezzar before King Belshazzar had the power that God gave him, and he did what he wanted and was proud. There was a time when God had him expelled from the throne for a while, and by punishing him to graze like beasts, he showed him that God is the owner of all things,

and made him know that he should not act arrogantly.

14

King Belshazzar knew all this. Nevertheless, he did not serve God, but worshiped idols.

Worse, he took the cups from God's temple and drank with precious guests, queens, and concubines, damaging the glory of God.

Daniel said that for this reason, God had sent this hand to write on the wall.

15

Daniel interpreted the writing on the wall.

¡°The writing on the wall is ¡®Mene , Mene , Tekel , Parsin.¡¯¡±

He went on to explain what it meant.

¡°Mene means that God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.

Tekel means that You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.

Parsin means Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.¡±

16

King Belshazzar gave Daniel a purple robe, a gold chain around his neck,

and made him the third ruler. But that very night Belshazzar is killed.

After Belshazzar's death, as prophesied, Darius the Mede became the new king.

17

King Belshazzar of Babylon made the mistake of not believing in God even though he knew

who God was. He dishonored the glory of God by pouring wine into the gold and silver cups offered to God. God judged him by sending his hand to write.

The proud king Belshazzar was put to death that night.

But Daniel, who trusted God and lived according to God's will, was exalted.

Everything we have comes from God.

The greatest of these is that we were saved through Jesus.

Through all that God has given us, we must reveal the glory of God.

I hope that you will become all children of God who do not behave arrogantly before God,

who is the master of my life, by always walking with the Holy Spirit.
