Cain became a murderer because he could not control his sin
|
2
|
|
[Genesis 4:8]
¡°Now Cain said to his brother
Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the
field,
Cain attacked his brother Abel
and killed him.¡±

After
being expelled from the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve settled in a new place.
It
was a completely different place from life in the Garden of Eden.
|
4
|
|
Adam had to work from morning
to evening to get food.
This is because God punished
Adam, who sinned, that he would have to sweat to get something
to eat.
[Genesis3:17]
¡°To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the
tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is
the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the
days of your life.¡±

Time
passed, and Eve became pregnant. Eve gave birth to her children as she
suffered from pregnancy and childbirth. The reason Eve suffered such great
suffering was because they broke the word of God.
[Genesis3:16] ¡°To the woman he said, "I will greatly
increase your pains in childbearing;
with pain you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over
you."¡°

|
|
Adam
and Eve named their first son Cain. The second son was named Abel.
Cain
lived by farming, and Abel lived by shepherding sheep.
|
7
|
|
When
the time came for the sacrifice, the two of them offered sacrifices to God.
Cain
took the fruit of the earth and offered it to God.
And
Abel offered the firstborn lamb and the fat of the lamb as a sacrifice to
God.
|
8
|
|
God
was pleased with Abel's sacrifice.
But
Cain's sacrifice was not accepted.
Cain
was greatly upset that God did not accept his own offering.
And
the color of his face changed.
|
9
|
|
The
reason God did not accept Cain's sacrifice was because Cain's sacrifice was
not right.
It
was right for Cain to reflect on himself before God, who did not accept his
sacrifice.
But
he became jealous of Abel, and his face changed color.
At
that moment, sin took control of Cain's heart.
|
10
|
|
God
saw that Cain's heart was full of sin and said,
¡°Why
are you angry? Why does your face change color? If you have a good heart, how
can you not raise your face? If you do not have a good heart, sin will try to
dominate you.
Sin
wants to rule you, but you have to rule it.¡±
|
11
|
|
But Cain did not obey God's warning.
Abel hated the fact that God was glad that
he had accepted his sacrifice.
Cain said to Abel, "Let's go out into
the field," and called him out.
|
12
|
|
Abel
went out into the field after hearing what his brother Cain had said.
When
the two of them went out into the desert, Cain suddenly changed.
Cain
killed his brother Abel there.
|
13
|
|
Cain, who had killed Abel, hurriedly
escaped from there.
He said that God appeared to Cain and asked
him. ¡°Where is your brother Abel?¡±
Cain lied to God and said, ¡°I don't know.
Am I the keeper of my brother?¡±
|
14
|
|
¡°What did you do? The sound of
the blood of your brother Abel is calling to me from the ground.¡± God knew
that Cain had killed Abel.
Cain,
unable to control his sin in his heart, rebelled against the will of God and
became the first murderer of mankind to kill his brother Abel.
|
15
|
|
God
gave Cain a terrible punishment.
¡°The
earth opened its mouth and drank from your hand the blood of your brother
whom you shed. You will now be cursed from the earth. The earth will no
longer bear fruit for you.
You
will drift from earth to earth.¡± Cain never turned away from his sins.
He
left the presence of God and settled in a place called Nod, where he lived.
|
16
|
|
God
revealed that Cain had sin in his heart and gave him an opportunity to
repent.
But
Cain did not listen to God. He lived his life by sticking to the path of
following sin, not the path of God's will. Cain, who committed his first
murder, came to establish himself as the most representative person in the
Bible who disobeyed the Word of God.
|
17
|
|
The Bible says, ¡°Everyone is a sinner who has
sinned before God.¡±
It is easy for everyone to fall into temptation
to sin.
When God points out our sins, we should always
accept them with humility.
And we must turn from our sins and go toward a
righteous God.
We must not be stubborn and subject to the
dominion of sin like Cain.
We must rule so that sin does not rule over us.
When sin tries to rule over us, we must ask for
it to depart in the name of Jesus who saved us.
The Holy Spirit immediately helps us to avoid
falling into sin.
I hope that you will keep today's Word in your
heart and become children of faith who always live humbly according to God's
Word!
