Child Moses rescued from the water

2

[Exodus 2:10]

¡°When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh¡¯s daughter and he became her son.

She named him Moses, saying, ¡°I drew him out of the water.¡±¡±

3

Jacob left Canaan with all his family and headed for Egypt.

Joseph, who became the prime minister of Egypt, welcomed his father and his family.

They settled in the land of Goshen prepared by Joseph.

4

The Egyptians called Jacob's company the Hebrew people.

Hundreds of years have passed since they settled there.

The descendants of Jacob, who were 70 when they first came to Egypt, or the Hebrew nation,

became a great nation in the land of Egypt.

5

Pharaoh, king of Egypt, was afraid of the Hebrews who had greatly increased in number.

He thought that if war broke out, they would join forces with Egypt's enemies.

So he tried to prevent the number of the Hebrew people from increasing any further,

but to no avail. The number of the Hebrew peoples did not decrease.

6

King Pharaoh gave a terrible command to all the people of Egypt so that the number of the

Hebrew peoples would not increase any further.

[Exodus 1:22] Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people:

"Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live."

From then on, the heinous events of a Hebrew male child born in Egypt were immediately

thrown into the Nile River.

7

At that time, a boy was born to a Hebrew house.

They belonged to the tribe of Levi.

The boy's father's name was ¡®Amram¡¯ and his mother's name was ¡®Jochebed¡¯.

8

The child born had a very handsome face.

The child's mother could not give up the child to be thrown into the Nile River.

So she secretly hid the child and raised him for three months, out of sight.

9

However, after three months, she was no longer able to keep the infant in hiding.

But she couldn't just dump the child into the Nile River.

Jochebed made a box of reeds for her child.

The box kept water out and made it floatable.

10

She put the child in a reed box and placed the reed box among the large reeds

on the banks of the Nile.

The child's sister was watching the box through the reeds to see what would happen to child.

11

At that time there were people who came out to the river to bathe nearby.

That man was the daughter of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that is, an Egyptian princess.

The servants who came with the princess were walking along the river with the princess.

Then the princess's eyes saw a box among the reeds.

12

The princess told her servants to bring the box.

The princess opened the box and saw the child inside.

The princess quickly realized that the child was a Hebrew child.

When she saw a crying child in her box, she felt sorry for her.

13

The older sister of the child who was watching this scene ran to the princess and said,

She asked, ¡°Shall I go and get a Hebrew woman to nurse this child?¡±

The princess, who looked pitiful for the child in the box, said, ¡°Yeah, do it.¡±

14

The child's older sister ran home in one step.

She then took her mother in front of princess.

The princess gave her child to Jochebed and said, She said,

¡°Take this baby and breastfeed for me, and I will pay you for it.¡±

15

This child is now legally raised under the orders of the princess.

The child's mother was allowed to breastfeed and raise her child to her heart's content.

Since she is a child raised by the princess at the request of the princess, the fear of dumping her into the Nile is gone. The child grew up in his mother's home.

16

After the child grew up, Jochebed took the child to the princess.

The princess took the child as her son. She then named the child Moses because she was

¡°the one who rescued him from the water.¡±

This very child named Moses will become a great leader who will later lead the

Hebrew people to Canaan.

17

Through today's words, we can see that God was always with Moses.

From the moment Moses was born, he strengthened the hearts of his parents and protected him from being thrown into the Nile River.

After three months, he was forced to be abandoned among the reeds of the Nile River,

but God gave him the grace to let the princess find the child.

In addition, he gave the princess a pity on the heart of the princess who saw Moses,

so that a miraculous thing happened when he was brought up with the milk of his mother, Jochebed.

18

We believe in Jesus and we become children of God.

Today, God protects us just as he protects Moses.

I hope that you will remember God who was with Moses whenever you face difficulties

in your future life. He must believe that God is always watching over us.

I hope that you will not be discouraged or disappointed,

but be people of faith who expect God to help you.
