Jesus Came to Earth in the Flesh

2

[John 1:4]

¡°The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth.¡±

3

There are several expressions of Jesus in the Bible. It is sometimes referred to as the Christ,
or the Messiah. Or it is described as the Son of God.

4

The Apostle John, who wrote the Gospel of John, expressed Jesus in a completely different way.
In John 1:1, it is written:
¡°In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.¡±
[John 1:1]

5

John expressed Jesus as the Word. Jesus, who is called the Word, was with God.
The Bible says that Jesus, the Word, is God.

6

The following verses tell us when Jesus, the Word, was with God and what he did with God.
¡°He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.¡±[John 1:2~3]

7

Jesus, the Word, was with God before the world was created. Jesus, the Word, created the heavens and the earth together with God. He was with him in everything when God created this world in six days. There is nothing in this world that Jesus did not create.

8

Jesus, the Word, created man in God's image on the sixth day of creation with God. Man is allowed to rule over all that God has created.
God wanted them to live there happily ever after.

9

However, Satan in the form of a serpent tempted Eve to break her promise to God and sin. Human beings who have sinned can no longer meet God.
Human beings who have sinned have fallen into a miserable state in which the physical life is alive but the spiritual life is dead.

10

God placed a great curse on Satan, who caused mankind to fall into sin.
¡°And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.¡±[Genesis 3:15]
A wonderful secret was hidden in these words.

11

Hidden in that word is the promise of God to save people from their sins.
He promised that one day a man born as a descendant of a woman would crush Satan's head and restore the spiritual life of those lost in sin.

12

It is Jesus who came as a descendant of a woman to fulfill this promise of God. Jesus, the Word, came down directly to this earth in a human body.
Jesus, the God who created the world, came in the same flesh as us.
The Gospel of John clearly states this.
¡°The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,
the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.¡±
[John 1:14]

13

In Jesus who came to this earth in the flesh, there was true life. The light of life has been shone on the whole world by the coming of Jesus, who is the new life, to this earth.
This light of life has shone upon everyone on this earth.

14

Jesus, who became the true life, fought against Satan on our behalf. He paid for all of sin and death and died on the cross. He resurrected after three days of death, completely bruising Satan's head, and triumphing.

15

Because of Jesus, who overcame death, a miracle happened to all those who died in their sins. Anyone who receives Jesus, the light of life, can receive new life.
Everyone who has received new life through faith in Jesus has received the gift of becoming
a child of God.
¡°Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God¡±[John 1:12]

16

We celebrate Christmas every year. This Christmas is the day to commemorate the coming of Jesus, the Word, in the flesh.
It is a day to sing the joy of coming to forgive our sins and give us eternal life.
It is a day to honor and worship Him by giving thanks for the grace that has given us new life.

17

Because Jesus loved us, He took on human flesh and descended to the lowest place. He lived in obedience to the word of God while he lived in a body like ours.
Jesus helped those in need and was with them. What is the greatest gift we can give to Jesus on this day to commemorate the Christmas of Jesus?
It means that we all strive to emulate the life Jesus lived on this earth. I hope that we will all strive to be like Jesus and give glory to God.
