God made the Red Sea cross like land
|
2
|
|
[Exodus 14:16]
Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to
divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry groun.

God sent Moses and Aaron to tell
Pharaoh king of Egypt to get the Israelites out of Egypt. But Pharaoh
insisted on not listening to God's word. Eventually, Pharaoh allowed the
Israelites to leave Egypt only after the tenth plague that killed his son.
|

|
|
Moses led
the Israelites and departed for the promised land of Canaan.
Moses set
out with the remains of his ancestor Joseph, who served as the prime minister
of Egypt in the past.
The reason is that Joseph made his
will when he died to take his bones with them when the children of Israel
left Egypt.
|
5
|
|
God led
the Israelites ahead of them.
God
covered the hot sun with a pillar of cloud during the day so that they could
walk coolly.
He lit a
pillar of fire on a cold night, so that they could go comfortably at night.
The pillar of cloud and the pillar of
fire protected the Israelites.
|

|
|
Upon receiving the report that the
Israelites had left Egypt, Pharaoh regretted having them leave. Pharaoh
decided to bring the Israelites back to Egypt. He prepared a chariot to
pursue the Israelites.
|
7
|
|
In order to pursue
the Israelites, 600 specially selected chariots and other chariots were also
prepared. The chariot had all its officers on board.
Pharaoh, with his chariot and Egyptian
soldiers, began to pursue the Israelites.
|
8
|
|
It didn't
take long for the Egyptian army led by Pharaoh to reach the place where the
Israelites were encamped. The Israelites were encamped by the Red Sea.
When the Israelites discovered
that the Egyptian army had been pursuing them, they were terrified.
|
9
|
|
The
Israelites went to Moses and protested and said,
¡°Why did you bring us out of Egypt? Didn't
we say to you when we were in Egypt, 'Leave us alone, we will remain here to
serve the Egyptians'? It is better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die
in the wilderness.¡± and regretted that they had left Egypt.
|
10
|
|
Moses
listened to them and answered them with conviction.
"Do
not be afraid! Stand firm and see the salvation the Lord will give you today.
After this day, you will not see these Egyptians again. Just be still. The
Lord will fight for you."
|
11
|
|
Then God
said to Moses.
¡°Let the people of Israel go forward. Lift
up your staff and point to the sea. Then the sea will part, and the people
will be able to cross the sea on dry land.¡±
After
God spoke these words to Moses, he moved a pillar of cloud to block the gap
between the Israelites and the Egyptian army so that the Egyptian army could
not come any closer.
|
12
|
|
As
God had said, Moses raised his staff and pointed it toward the sea.
At
that moment, God caused a strong wind from the east.
The
strong wind began to push the sea water up. Strong winds created a great road
between the seas.
|
13
|
|
The sea
water formed a large wall on both sides.
The
Israelites crossed over to the other side of the sea along the road in the
middle of the sea.
All the Israelites crossed the sea
without missing a single one.
|
14
|
|
Even after the Israelites crossed
the sea, the sea still formed a great wall.
When Pharaoh saw the road through
the sea, he led his soldiers and began to pursue the Israelites again. The
Egyptian soldiers arrived in the middle of the sea at dawn.
|
15
|
|
When the Egyptian army arrived in
the middle of the sea, God disturbed them.
God made their chariot wheels come off.
They found themselves stuck in the middle of the sea. Then the Egyptian
soldiers said, ¡°Let¡¯s go back without chasing after the Israelites! Jehovah
is on their side and fights us!¡± exclaimed.
|
16
|
|
At
that time, as God had commanded, Moses raised his hand and pointed to the
sea.
The
sea filled the place that had turned into land, and the sea deepened.
Pharaoh
and his army, who disobeyed God's word and remained proud to the end, were
all drowned in the middle of the sea.
|
17
|
|
With great power, God made the
Israelites cross the Red Sea like land.
God defeated the Egyptian army and saved
Israel.
When the Israelites
saw God's great power, they realized how great God was. They also believed
and followed Moses, the man whom God had chosen. God can do things that seem
impossible to human eyes.
The God who parted the Red Sea and defeated
the Egyptian army is God our Father.
When faced with difficult situations, we
should not complain like the Israelites, but become children of faith who
believe and depend on Almighty God.
