Let's be in the midst of
resurrection.
|
2
|
|
Then go
quickly and tell his disciples: ¡®He has risen from the dead and is going
ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.¡¯ Now I have told you.¡± (Matthew 28:7)

Jesus
suffered and died on the cross for all our sins Jesus' body was buried in the
new tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, who followed Jesus.
A large stone was placed in front
of the tomb of Jesus.

|
|
The
next day, the high priests and Pharisees who took the lead in killing Jesus
went to Pilate.
¡°Sir, when that liar, who died
yesterday, was alive, he said, ¡®I will rise again in three days.
So make sure to guard the tomb until the third day.
If his disciples stole the body of Jesus and then said he was raised to life,
it would be worse than before.¡±
|

|
|
After
listening to them, the governor Pilate gave permission.
¡°Take the
guards and guard the tomb as much as you can.¡±
The
tomb of Jesus was sealed with stones and guards guarded the entrance so that
no one could take his body. They strictly prevented anyone from stealing the
body of Jesus.
|

|
|
The
dawn of the third day came when Jesus said that he would rise again.
There was
a great earthquake around the tomb.
An angel
sent by God rolled away the stone that was covering the tomb of Jesus.
When the guards guarding the place saw the scene,
they could not do anything and became like dead people..
|

|
|
There
were Mary Magdalene and other women who had come to see the tomb of Jesus.
The angel said to the women. ¡°Don't be afraid. I know you are looking for
Jesus crucified.¡±
The angel
showed them the tomb of Jesus and said,
¡°Jesus
is not here. He rose again as he said. Come and see where Jesus lay.¡±
|
8
|
|
The
angel went on to say to the women who saw the empty tomb of Jesus.
¡°And go
quickly and tell the disciples, ¡®Jesus has risen from the dead. And he went
to Galilee first. You will find him there.¡¯ See, this is what I will tell
you.¡±
After hearing the angel's words,
the resurrected Jesus appeared to the women who were leaving the tomb.
|
9
|
|
Jesus,
who rose from the dead on the third day, spoke to the women.
¡°How are
you?¡± The women approached Jesus, grabbed His feet, and bowed down.
Jesus said. ¡°Do not be afraid, go
and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.¡±
|
10
|
|
The
women who heard Jesus' words ran with joy to the place where the disciples
were.
The
guards who saw the scene also rushed into the city and reported to the chief
priests everything that had happened in the tomb of Jesus. Hearing this, the
high priests and elders gathered together to discuss. They decided to hide
that fact.
|
11
|
|
The
high priests and elders gave the guards a lot of money and said,
¡°You tell
people, ¡®At night Jesus¡¯ disciples sneaked up and stole Jesus¡¯ body while we
were asleep, even if this story reaches the governor¡¯s ears, we will speak
well and save you.¡±
The
paid guards lied as they were told.

The chief
priests and elders would be the ones who made the big mistake of killing the
Messiah if they admit that Jesus was resurrected.
So they tried to hide it to the end. Although they knew from the reports of
the soldiers that Jesus was the true Messiah, they did not accept it. Rather,
they tried to deny the resurrection of Jesus by creating false rumors.
|
13
|
|
However,
the fact that Jesus was resurrected proved that the resurrected Jesus himself
appeared in various places. Jesus appeared to two disciples on their way to
Emmaus and showed Himself to them. He also appeared and showed his beloved
disciple Simon Peter.
|
14
|
|
Also,
Jesus appeared to the disciples and showed the nail marks on his hands and
feet.
He also gave them faith in the resurrection by showing them that he was
resurrected in the flesh by eating a piece of grilled fish. But Thomas, who
was not there, told the other disciples that Jesus had risen, but he did not
believe.
|
15
|
|
Jesus
appeared again while Thomas was with his disciples and told him to touch the
wounds on his hands and feet. After touching the wounds on Jesus' hands and
side, Thomas also had faith in the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus said to
Thomas, ¡°Do you believe because you have seen me?
Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.¡±
|
16
|
|
Jesus appeared as a resurrected body
not only to his disciples but also to many people.
It is recorded in 1 Corinthians that there were about five hundred people who
gathered there.
After that, the resurrected Jesus appeared to James, and he also appeared to
Paul in Damascus to prove his resurrection.
|
17
|
|
When
the high priests and elders heard that Jesus was resurrected, they did not
believe, but rather denied the resurrection with lies. Conversely, those who
saw the resurrection of Jesus and had faith became those who proclaimed the
resurrection of Jesus to others. Mary Magdalene went to Jesus' disciples and
told them the news.
The
eleven disciples also lived a life of telling people that Jesus was
resurrected.
The Apostle Paul, who met the resurrected
Jesus in Damascus, dedicated his whole life to preaching the news of the
resurrection to the Gentiles. We did not see the resurrected Jesus in person.
However, God grants us faith in the resurrection without seeing Jesus in
person.
We too must live a life of witness to the
fact of the resurrection of Jesus to those we meet.
