Become a Servant Ready to Meet Jesus

2

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.¡± (Luke 12:40)

3

The children of God who have believed in Jesus and are saved are those who are waiting for Jesus to come again.

When Jesus comes to this earth again, He directly told the story of two servants about what kind of attitude people who live will receive praise.

4

It is the story of one of those servants.
The owner of this servant has a long way to go.

The master called his servant and asked him a favor before leaving his long road.

5

¡°While I am traveling, you are to take charge of all my property.

In particular, take good care of the servants who work in my house, and make sure that you provide them with the food they need.¡±

The owner did not tell him exactly when he would return.

6

The servant who received the master's request promised to do as the master said.

The master believed the servant's promise and set out on a long journey.

After the master left, the servant disregarded his promise to the master.

7

He began to act as if he had become the master.
He ate and drank and got drunk on his master's property.

He did not keep his promise to take care of the other servants.

He didn't even give them the food he had to hand out in time.

8

He did something worse.

He beat and harassed both male and female servants.

This servant did this bad thing, thinking that it would still take a long time for his master to return.

9

The other servant received a favor from his master just like the first servant.

¡°While I travel, you are to take charge of all my property.
Take special care of the servants who work in my house, and make sure to provide them with the food they need.¡±

10

This servant also made a promise to him that he would do his master's will.

The master trusted the servant and went a long way.

The master left without promising a day to return even to this servant.

11

After the master left, the servant did what the master had asked him to do.

He took good care of the servants of the household that his master had entrusted to him.

And he gave them food at the right time.

12

This servant also did not know when his master would return.

But this servant, with the thought that his master would return today, he faithfully did the work entrusted to him.

He did not waste his master's property and managed it with care.

13

Although the same requests and responsibilities were given, the two men acted completely differently.

The first servant acted as if his master would never come back, and the second servant acted as if his master could come even today.

14

But their master returned at an unexpected time.

When his master saw what the first servant had done, he was very angry.

The servant was beaten for wrongdoing and punished for unfaithfulness.

15

But the second servant, who always acted with the thought that his master would come, welcomed his master with joy.

The owner was overjoyed to see his faithfulness.

The master rewarded the servant with all his possessions.

16

The master who left the long road that Jesus spoke of was speaking of Jesus Himself.

And the servant is a metaphor for us who believe in Jesus and become children of God.

As Jesus left for the kingdom of heaven, there is one last word he asked of us, his servants.
¡ºGo therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20]
"teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.¡»

17

We must faithfully carry out the work that the Lord Jesus commanded and entrusted to us. Even if the Lord returns to this earth today, we must live a life that is not ashamed.
We should strive to love others as Jesus loved us. We must remember the words that Jesus has entrusted to us and live diligently preaching the gospel.
When Jesus comes back to this earth, we should all strive to live as highly praised people like the second servant.
