Title

1

Let's not fall into the sin of pride!

2

Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
(
James 4:15)

3

God hates the proud and exalts the humble.

[Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.]

( Proverbs 18:12)

Today, let's take a look at what kind of person a proud person is through the book of James

4

The first proud person is one who acts as if he were a judge of sin.
[Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.](James 4:11)
Such a person criticizes and judges the sins of others. They talk and act as if they are deciding whether someone else will go to heaven or hell.

5

It is God who made the law. Only God can judge those who break the law and commit sins.
He alone can judge right from wrong and decide whether to save or not.

6

God has not permitted any man to judge the sins of others.
Because no one can say that he is without sin by keeping all the laws that God has set.
There is only God, Jesus, who is without sin in a flesh like ours.

7

We must not fall into the pride of acting like judges on the sins of others.
When we see others sinning, we must first look at ourselves.
And we need to pray and help him so that he doesn't commit a worse sin.

8

The second proud person is one who trusts himself more than God.
He had a man in a village who considered himself very good.
He was full of confidence that there was nothing he had to live up to, and that he could achieve whatever he set out to do.

9

Today, this person boasted in front of people about his new plans for the future. ¡°Look, everyone.
I have one excellent plan. Sooner or later I will be leaving for a city, where I will be staying for a year. I will do business there and make a huge profit, and will come back here again.¡±

10

This person said with 100% certainty that nothing bad would happen to him during that year.
He said with 100% confirmation that the plan of starting his own business and making money would go as he thought without any difficulties and he would make a lot of money.

11

But no one knows what will happen to that person in one year.
He may be very upset when the boat he was riding on on his way to another city met with a storm.
Also, he may be offended by a robber on the way back from his business and earning a lot of money. No one in the world can say with certainty what will happen in a year.

12

The Bible says to such a person this way.
[Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life?
You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.](James 4:14)

This verse means that no matter how good our plans are, we must realize that life is something that will disappear like a mist, unless the God who rules our life does not protect us.

13

Samson attacked the Philistines who were tormenting the Israelites and killed many people. Using the pretext of what Samson had done, the Philistines led an army and came to capture Samson. In order not to harm Israel, Samson told them to hand him over to the Philistines.

14

Among the stories Jesus told people directly, there is one story that we can understand well. There was a man who lived his life with the greatest goal of his life being to make a lot of money. This man made a lot of money according to his plan. That evening when he achieved his goal, he praised himself and told himself his plans for life.

"Life! You now have an abundance of wealth for many years to come; rest, eat, drink, and enjoy life."

15

We must not act like fools who ignore God and know that their plans will work. We shouldn't even be proud of what I could do without God's help. We have to be people who humbly admit that there is nothing we can do unless God protects us.

16

The Bible of James clearly states what kind of words and attitude we should live.
[Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.]
(James 4:15)

A person who believes in Jesus and becomes a child of God must always seek God's help when doing something. He must have the humble heart to admit that he cannot do anything without God's help.

17

We must not forget that God is guiding all our paths as children of God.
When we do something, we must first think about what pleases God.
We must acknowledge that God's help is needed for this to happen, and we must become those who walk in front of God with a humble heart.
[Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.](Psalms 127:1)
