Daniel's Vision and
Jesus
|
2
|
|
"In
my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,
coming with the clouds of heaven.
He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.
He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men
of every language worshiped him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his
kingdom is one that will never be destroyed."
(Daniel 7:13-14)

Daniel was
taken captive to Babylon when King Nebuchadnezzar invaded Judah. Although
Daniel was brought captive, God was always with him.
Daniel lived and was recognized as a very valuable person in Babylon.
|
4
|
|
In the first year of King
Belshazzar's rule over Babylon, Daniel had a strange dream.
The dream was remembered so clearly even after waking up.
Daniel wrote down the details of the vision he saw in his dream.
|
5
|
|
These were the contents of the vision
that Daniel saw in his dream.
The wind blew from all sides. The winds caused great waves in the sea.
Then four large beasts of different shapes came up from the sea.
|
6
|
|
he first beast looked like a lion.
But the lion had eagle's wings on its back.
As Daniel looked at the beast, its wings were torn off. The beast
straightened up and stood on its hind legs like a man.
The beast also had a human heart.
|
7
|
|
The second beast looked like a bear. The beast's legs were
longer on one side than on the other.
And between the bear's teeth were the ribs of the three beasts it had eaten.
He heard someone say to the beast, ¡°Get up and eat plenty of meat.¡±
|
8
|
|
The third beast was like a leopard
with four heads. It had four wings on its back as well as the number on its
head. This beast has been given dominion over all the earth.
|
9
|
|
The fourth beast Daniel saw in his
vision was a beast with ten horns.
The beast's appearance was terrifying, brutal, and very strong.
The beast's teeth were iron, and it broke its prey with its teeth and ate it,
and trampled the rest with its feet.
|
10
|
|
While Daniel was examining the
horns of this beast, another horn came out from among them.
Its horns had what looked like human eyes.
The horn also had a mouth, so it made a loud noise.
This little horn plucked out three other horns and threw them away.
|
11
|
|
Daniel
also saw thrones set in place in a vision. On that throne He sat as the
Judge, the living God from all eternity. God's clothes were white as snow,
and His hair was like wool.
A flame was burning on the throne, and fire blazed on the wheels of the throne.
|
12
|
|
Fire flowed from God's throne wheel like a river.
Thousands and tens of thousands of angels were standing there serving God.
When God begins to judge, books are opened before Him.
|
13
|
|
The
little horn, which had three other horns plucked out, was arrogantly arguing
loudly as if it were something great. God judged the beast that behaved
arrogantly. God killed the beast.
And the body was thrown into the burning fire.
It was a beast that looked so big and strong, but it was nothing in front of
God's judgment.
|
14
|
|
God judged the other three beasts
as well. God took away all the authority the beasts had. Like the fourth
beast, He did not immediately kill it, but allowed it to live for a while.
Those beasts were nothing but insignificant beings in front of God.
|
15
|
|
While Daniel was looking at the vision,
a man in the form of a man came riding on the clouds of the sky. He went
before the throne of God.
As he approached God, attendant angels led him to God.
|
16
|
|
God
gave him the power, the glory and the kingdom of the whole world.
The people of the whole world and all who speak different languages served
him.
Upon seeing the sight, Daniel confessed.
He
said, ¡°His kingdom will endure forever and his kingdom will never be
destroyed.¡±
|
17
|
|
The
beasts Daniel saw are symbolic of the nations being established on earth.
God establishes nations on this earth and destroys established nations.
Just as the fourth strong beast was killed and burned, no matter how strong a
country may seem, if God takes away its strength, that country can no longer
exist.
No country in this world can last forever.
God sets a time limit for that nation, and when that time comes, it loses its
strength or perishes.
|
18
|
|
However, the kingdom of the one who
looks like a man who has received authority from God in the end is an eternal
and never-ending kingdom.
This country is established through Jesus, who came to this earth as a human
body.
God gave Jesus all authority and made it possible for him to save people all
over the world.
The vision shown through Daniel is to show the eternal kingdom that Jesus
will come to this earth and achieve. He said that the kingdom is eternal and
that it will never be destroyed.
We became the people of this country by believing in Jesus. We are thankful
that we have become the people of a nation that is eternal and never perish,
and we must become people who keep the word of God that the people of this
nation must keep.
