"Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?"
Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them.
Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

Barley bread and fish served by a child

2

Bible verse : John 6:9-11 (NIV)

"Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish,
but how far will they go among so many?"
Jesus said, "Have the people sit down."
There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down,
about five thousand of them.
Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks,
and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted.
He did the same with the fish.

3

Jesus and his disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee in a boat. People who wanted to meet Jesus came from this town and that town and followed him.
They gathered because they heard about the wonderful things Jesus was doing.

4

Among those who followed Jesus, there were many sick people.
Because they had heard rumors of miracles in which Jesus healed the sick.
They gathered hoping that Jesus would heal their sickness.

5

The number of people who came to meet Jesus increased over time.
Jesus proclaimed the gospel of the kingdom to them.
Jesus also had pity on those who came to him hoping to be healed and healed them.

6

People stayed with Jesus until evening. Knowing that they were hungry, Jesus said to one of his disciples, Philip. ¡°Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?¡±

7

Philip answered Jesus' question as follows. ¡°I think the people here need a lot of bread, even if they only eat one bite. It would cost a whopping two hundred denarii to buy that much bread.¡± ¡°Two hundred denarii was a large amount of money, equivalent to one person saving up six months' salary.¡±

8

There were about 5,000 men gathered there, and there were many more people gathered there, including women and children.
It is true that it takes a lot of money to feed all of them, as Philip said.

9

Then Andrew brought a child to Jesus and said, ¡°Jesus, all we have now are five barley loaves and two fish that this little boy has.
But we cannot feed this many people with this.¡±

10

After hearing Andrew's words, Jesus said to his disciples, "Tell the people to take their seats." ¡±The disciples made the people sit on the grass as Jesus said.
The people followed the disciples and sat down on the grass.

11

Jesus took the five barley loaves and two fish that the boy had brought with him and prayed to God. Then he gave the loaves and fish to his disciples and told them to distribute them to the people there.

12

When the disciples obeyed Jesus and distributed the loaves and fish, a miracle happened. The more barley bread they gave to people, the more barley bread was created. Also, the more fish they gave to the people, the more they grew.
The disciples distributed barley bread and fish to all who were present.

13

Everyone there ate barley bread and fish. Not only men but also women and children ate bread and fish as much as they wanted.
The amount was so great that there were twelve baskets of bread and fish left over from eating.

14

Jesus preciously used the five barley loaves and two fish given by a child.
What the child gave to Jesus was a very small amount of food, but Jesus performed a miracle with the food.
Everyone there had enough, and twelve baskets of food were left over.

15

In the Bible, people whose faith was greatly used by God are introduced.
God saw David's faith as a young shepherd and raised him as the great king of Israel.
God also saw young Samuel's faith and later raised him up as a great leader of Israel.

16

You shouldn't think that faith is something you do as an adult. Even though I'm young and have at least what I can do now, it's important to act for Jesus.
God receives that heart and accomplishes amazing things through me.

17

Like this child who gave Jesus two fish and five barley loaves today, let's think about what we can do for Jesus now. Jesus accepts everything we do out of love for Jesus.
We must have the faith to believe that Jesus is the one who can give us amazing miracles through such things.
