Daniel Interprets Nebuchadnezzar's Dream through Prayer

2

Bible verse : Daniel 2:23(NIV)

I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king."

3

In the second year that Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon became king, he had a special and strange dream. But when he woke up, he couldn't remember anything about the dream.
He couldn't sleep for days and tried to recall the dream, but to no avail.

4

King Nebuchadnezzar wanted to know the dream, so he gave an order to his officials. ¡°Say, call all the magicians, astrologers, and soothsayers in the royal palace, as well as the sorcerers in Babylon.¡± When the king's order was given, all the magicians, astrologers, fortune-tellers, and sorcerers who had come to the country gathered together.

6

When King Nebuchadnezzar heard those words, he said with a very scary face.
¡°I, Nebuchadnezzar, give you a clear command. If you do not tell me what I dreamed, I will cut your bodies into pieces and your houses will be reduced to rubbish. But whoever tells me my dream and its meaning, I will give you a great reward and honor.¡±

7

When they heard this, they trembled with fear and said to the king again.
¡°O king! Please tell your servants the dream. Then we will explain its meaning.¡±
The king spoke again. ¡°My orders have already been spoken.
If you do not tell me my dream, you will be punished. You guys keep saying this and that to waste time.
Tell me what the dream I had was about, and I think I can unravel its meaning.¡±

8

The Babylonian sorcerers spoke again. ¡°No one in this world can answer what you ask. No king has ever ordered such a thing. The King asks us to do something very difficult. The king¡¯s words are truly something only a god could do.¡±
They trembled and said that the king's command was truly unjust.

9

Nebuchadnezzar became even more angry at their words and issued a terrible command. ¡°Look, come and kill all the so-called wise people in Babylon.
They are of no use to anyone.¡± It was a time when the king had to follow whatever orders he gave.

10

After receiving the order, Arioch, the captain of the king's bodyguard, went out to find the wise men to kill them. Among the wise men in this palace were Daniel and his three friends, whom you all know well. If they remain still, they too are in danger of dying.

11

When Daniel heard this news, he went to Arioch, the captain of the guard, and carefully asked. ¡°Why did the king give such a terrible command?¡±
Arioch told Daniel in great detail what had happened.

12

After hearing the explanation from Arioch, the captain of the guard, Daniel went to King Nebuchadnezzar and spoke. ¡°O king! ¡°Just give me a little time and I will figure out the dream and solve it for you.¡±
When Daniel said that he would tell him the contents of his dream and interpret it if he gave him just a little time, the king allowed him to do so.

13

After returning home, Daniel gathered his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. And he explained the situation that had now happened in the palace, and together they began to pray to God. ¡°God, please take pity on us and let us know your dream. ¡°God help us so that we do not die along with other wise men.¡±

14

God answered their prayers. That night, God appeared to Daniel and showed him in a vision the entire dream that King Nebuchadnezzar had had.
And he allowed Daniel to know the secret of the king's dream.
Daniel gave praise and glory to the God of heaven.

15

Daniel, who learned of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream through a vision, went up to the king, told him that God had revealed all the dreams, and interpreted the king's dream. God showed Nebuchadnezzar a dream about what would happen in the future. Daniel accurately interpreted the king's dream.

16

After hearing Daniel tell and interpret his dream, King Nebuchadnezzar bowed down before Daniel and said, ¡°I know that your God is the greatest of all gods and the Lord of all kings. Because you have told me this mystery, your God is truly a revealer of secrets.¡±

17

King Nebuchadnezzar gave Daniel many gifts. Not only that, he made Daniel ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in the highest position among the wise men. And he also gave Daniel's three friends, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, to rule over the province of Babylon.

18

Daniel and his three friends were people who completely believed in God.
He believed and was confident that if it were God's power, he could know and interpret the king's dream. According to their beliefs, God made them know the king's dream and allowed them to interpret it. And He exalted people of faith.

After hearing today's message, we must also strive to imitate the faith of Daniel      and his friends. When you encounter difficult situations, you must become a      person who believes in God and prays.
Then, God will elevate you and make you noble people.
